TLM India has recently announced Dr Sunil Anand as its new Director. He over from Dr Jeyakumar Daniel who will retire in October 2009. Dr Anand has worked with TLM for more than 20 years and is currently Deputy Director (Medical) TLM India.
Dr. Sunil completed his medical studies at CMC Vellore. In 1991 he completed a postgraduate degree in dermatology at the University of Mysore. In the mid 1980s Sunil and his wife Shyamala took in charge of TLM’s hospital at Kothara. In those days Kothara was a hospital with an active leprosy control program. As Superintendent of Kothara for most of the period up until 2007, he was responsible for the development. The hospital to many communities accros Maharastra. Today the hospital reputated for excellent services in leprosy, ophthalmology, dermatology and general medicine. In addition to overall leadership Sunil has been responsible for clinical services in dermatology and reconstructive surgery.
In 2001, Sunil was appointed Deputy Director (Medical) of TLM India, a position that required general oversight of the medical work of all hospitals in India.Dr. Sunil’s wife Shyamala is a consultant ophthalmologist.She has been Superintendent of the TLM community hospital Kothara from 2007. They have two children, Manisha (22) and Nihal (17). Sunil a committed Christian, and seeks to express his faith through both words and actions. As a leader – whether of a hospital or organisation – he sees his role as developing the spiritual life of the organisation as well as fostering high standards of professional excellence. In addition to work and family he has a range of other interests in his life including a variety of sports, reading and music.

Ranjit Mookerji is working as Deputy Director for all the Community Based Activities (CBA) of TLM Trust India, since April 2007. He is provides leadership to all the all the community Based Programmes across India, 6 Vocational Training Centres , and TLM Aided CBA programmes. He has 22 years of rich experiences in social development sector . Strategic initiative & planning, Capacity building plans and strategies, ,Food Nutrition Security & Livelihood Solutions, Emergency Relief & Disaster Management, Rapid Need Assessment-PLA/PRA, Planning Monitoring Evaluation & Learning etc.
He has worked with World Vision of India and Sri Lanka for 19 years . He has also worked with Food for the Hungry ,US, as their consultant and Point person for the USAID supported Tsunami programmes at Tamil Nadu. He then worked with Hemophilia Federation (India ) as their Executive Director for one term. He served as a consultant for the Christian Medical Association of India for 6 months before he joined Leprosy Mission Trust India in April 2007. His wife Suchita is an English subject teacher. They have two daughters –Amy and Annie. Amy is in her final year of University Graduation programme of Masss Communication & Journalism and Annie has completed her Senior Secondary and is looking forward to join university.

Mr. Wilfred Balraj has joined the TLM India family as Deputy Director (Corporate Services) recently. Prior to joining TLM India he was Head Administration at AFPRO, in New Delhi. Wilfred comes to us with varied experiences and a passion to work with the under privileged and marginalised. Wilfred’s wife Sunitha works with UNICEF in New Delhi and they have one daughter, Abigail, studying in the ninth standard in Delhi.

Dr. Premal Das, who has been working with The Leprosy Mission Hospital at Naini in Allahabad, Uttar pradesh as Surgeon & Superintendent since 1997, has been elevated to the position of Deputy Director Medical on November5. he has resumed his duty from November 9. This is his second innings as the Deputy Director Medical as he has already served from 2004 to 2007 on the same position.
He has also had a two-year stint as Coordinator for Surgery from 2001 to 2003; and was field Representative on TLM International Board from 2005 to 2007.
